About NBEC and Our Mission

The Northern Buckeye Education Council operates as a not-for-profit Council of Governments, established under the Ohio Revised Code (ORC 167). NBEC is committed to facilitating cost-effective access to various cooperative administrative services for educational and governmental entities across Ohio. NBEC offers ITC services through its subsidiary, the Northwest Ohio Computer Association (NWOCA) and Northern Ohio Virtual Academy (NOVA) which is an online public school in Ohio. We also provide technology as a utility and professional learning services to districts and public entities across the state.

Objectives and Structure

NBEC is structured to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Promote Collaboration: Encourage collaboration among educational and governmental entities, fostering a spirit of cooperation.

  2. Strategic Planning: Take a leadership role in strategic planning to meet the future needs of educational and governmental entities in Ohio.

  3. Efficiency and Cost Reduction: Deliver cooperative services to member educational and governmental entities, harnessing the benefits of scale to reduce overall costs.

Membership and Location

Currently, NBEC proudly counts forty-one public education entities among its full members. These entities are situated within Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Williams, and Wood counties.

In addition we provide services to thirty three public schools and fifteen non-public schools in many other parts of the state.

The NBEC office is conveniently located at 209 Nolan Parkway, Archbold, Ohio, serving as a central hub for its vital educational and governmental support services in the region.

The Northern Buckeye Education Council's purpose is to deliver superior programs tailored to the needs of its member educational organizations and governmental agencies, leveraging the advantages of a larger user base to enhance cost-efficiency and effective management.
